I'm in my 70's and have had a history of benign fibroids. The other day it appeared that a fibroid was ejected from my uterus. I looked online, and that is exactly what it looked like. Are fibroids ever rejected from the body naturally like this?

Hello, @joannepayne - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. That would be startling to see something eject from your uterus, even more to see it matched the uterine fibroid image you looked up afterward.

I'd like to introduce you to some members like @2929 @mcmurf2 @zakcat @mepowers @mindy62 who have talked about uterine fibroids and may have some input for you on whether fibroids and rejection from the body. @baxtersmom also may have some thoughts for you.

Did the ejection you said appeared to occur hurt at all or come with any other symptoms?
