I am interested because you said your ablation was successful for your original condition. I have paroxysmal A-fib newly diagnosed in the last year. I have an ablation scheduled in 56 days (but who is counting!) I can hardly wait! I hope this will work since I feel like you--when the extra beats or the timing is off--I can tell immediately. While I have had episodes fairly far apart, I get really annoyed when the arrhythmia comes on out of nowhere! Mostly at night like you. No triggers, no reason! I was given a prescription for an anti-arrhythmic which I took for a couple weeks and then read the side effects and Black Box warnings and it scared me to death! I was very comfortable with Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) that I took for B/P control and it was also good for decreasing the awareness of palpatations before I had A-fib. You might want to take a chance and try a medication at a low dose. It can't hurt and it might help. Anyway, I hope you find a solution because I really can relate to your discomfort and your frustration. Good luck.

@sjm46 Thanks for your response. I don't know about that specific med but my BP is usually about 95/59 so very low to begin with and beta blockers lower BP. I'm afraid I'd be comatose!
Good luck with the ablation.
