Extreme symptoms from reducing gabapentin
I've been on gabapentin 1200 mg/day, and last week I reduced it to 600 mg/day. I'm having problems with my vision, my equilibrium, and my brain feels fuzzy. Is this normal? I'm working towards stopping gabapentin entirely.

That seems like a big step down all at once. I reduced 1 pill a week. It is doable. I'm off all opioids now.
Your doctor might advise you to reduce more slowly.
Please, call your dr. Before lowing your dosage any further.
This can be very dangerous.
Take care
I have increasing kidney problems (started with a reaction to an angiogram dye) and my doctor's nurses told me to reduce rapidly. I refused. The literature states that reduction must be slow. I take 1200 twice a day. It helps with nerve pain and fibromyalgia. I had to point out to them that reduction had to be slow and asked what they would substitute.... No reply because other than Lyrica there is nothing and Lyrica also is harmful to kidneys.. Right now I am trying avocado seeds in alcohol. Very effective. Side effects unknown.
Why is everyone trying to get off gabapentin when I took 100 mg at night initially with my Fibromyalgia diagnosis it helped me sleep and ease my anxiety, but then it was making me tired and constipated, I think. how does Lyrica compare? My Dr just put me on dolixetine and Abilify??? don’t like it so far. Please comment I’m learning so much from all of you. Thank you so much. I wish us all the best.
@tdinnen I got off gaba to try naltrexone. The test is about half-way through.
