I received my MRI results on the liver and there was nothing found! I am so relieved to know the cancer has not spread from the colon to the liver. I am now awaiting a surgery date. I will be having a laparoscopic procedure with the surgeons using the DaVinci robot. This is supposed to give the surgeons more accuracy and movement and should be an easier recovery. I’m mentally ready to go as soon as they can get me in!!
Oh, @minabird
I'm so happy for you! That is great news and I know how relieved you must be. I'm glad to hear you say that you are, "mentally ready to go as soon as they can get me in." Will you keep us posted on your surgery date?
Has the doctor told you what kind of recovery period to expect?
Keep in touch - we want to encourage you in this journey.
Teresa
Hello minabird, it is a good news indeed. See Miracles happened that the spot on the liver is nothing. Thank you for sharing this with us. Now, you may follow up with the procedure and focus on Laparoscopic procedure. You are in a good hand with the surgeons using Davinci robot. My mother had completed Lapascupic procedure only since there was no robot facilities in Bangkok, Thailand. We heard about surgeons using Davinci robot which is accurate and easier recovery. You are fortunate and it is a blessing that you have all the advanced equipments and support. I keep on praying for you. In the mean time, please be strong, eat well and build up more positive energy to move on. My mother was 78 years when she has laparoscopic surgery. She is now 80 years old and recovering well. Good luck minabird and please keep us posted. Wishing you all the best. Soul
Soul,
I have been scheduled for surgery on the 15th of this month. I am so hopeful and ready to do this. I feel I am in very good hands.so glad to hear that your Mom is recovering and doing well! So thankful for all of the supprt from the people in this group. It has made a difference in my life 🙂
Hi Minabird,
It has been only a few days since your surgery, so I don't know if you'll be checking emails. Just wanted to send a note that we're thinking about you.
Hello Colleen,
Thank you for checking on me! I had a very successful resection surgery on the 15th. I am now at home recovering. They used the DaVinci robotic sssist and removed approx 12in of my colon. I do not have a colostomy bag and am progressing very well. They have sent off the mass (which was approx the size of a quarter) and the lymph nodes for pathology. I am so relieved to have the surgery behind me and am hopeful for good pathology results.
So good to hear, Mina. All the more reason to celebrate the holiday season. Were any dietary restrictions recommended to you?
Hello @minabird
I'm so glad to hear that your surgery went so well. I'll also be hoping for good pathology reports for you.
Teresa
Dear Minabird, thank you for sharing your good news with us. I am so glad the surgery went well. I haven't seen this DaVincci Robot yet. How amazing and advance the technology and medical equipments are. Did the surgery take long? You are so fortunate that you did not have a colonstomy bag. Can you walk now? The doctors suggested my Mom to walk 3-4 days after the surgery. My Mom has to be carful with the food. She has constipation time to time. But the doctor did not prescribe any medication. Wishing you a speedy recovery. All the best for the holidays season. Soul
@minabird Thank you for keeping in touch! We will be looking forward to hearing from you after your appointment with the surgeon.
Take courage and peace with you today,
Teresa
