Hi Karen -
Your question is now several years old so I hope you’ve been properly diagnosed and treated for your globus. I had similar symptoms over a year ago and was diagnosed via CT scan with contrast as having a thyroglossal duct cyst which usually occurs in children but I was 61 at the time. The treatment is a surgery called the Sistrunk Procedure which usually involves breaking the hyoid bone to be sure the entire cyst is removed or it can come back. From what I was told the surgery is usually outpatient but the recovery can take 2 weeks or more. I continue to procrastinate this surgery but my symptoms seem worse so I should probably schedule it.
Have you had an CT scan and were you checked for this?

My globus started in 2021 when it was the Pandemic but i had a partial glossectomy psrt of my tongue removed in 2017.

The globus came out if the Blue although i was very anxious cos of the pandemic.
Since then of have had 7 scopes 2 CT head and neck scans. My tongue has gone extremely dry. I have a geograohic tongue on the tip which breaks out all the time. When i eat my tongue goes gritty. Its like a brillo pad . There is no end to it abd eating is awful. My swallow test came back ok.
How do you get rid of the lump its more than a sensation
