Has anyone taken Remeron and Lexapro together ?

Yes, this combination referred to as "California Rocket Fuel," aims to produce a more comprehensive antidepressant effect by targeting different brain neurotransmitter systems. you must be cognizant of Serotonin syndrome
This is the most critical risk when combining these two medications, as both increase serotonin activity in the brain. This is a potentially life-threatening condition caused by too much serotonin.
Symptoms: Include agitation, confusion, high blood pressure, increased heart rate, excessive sweating, muscle spasms, shivering, and diarrhea.
Action required: If you experience these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention. Call your doctor and be ready to go to ER. Thankfully this syndrome is rare.

I have been taking 3 meds that cause serotonin syndrome for over 10 years without incident. Whenever I feel a little out of sorts, I check my BP.
