Skyrizi
For those with psoriasis, how has Skyrizi worked for you? I understand the immune changes that come with biologics, but curious how significant the side effects have been for those who take this one.

@jake04 I was on Skyrizi for for eighteen months or more and it did nothing for me. No side effects, other than perhaps shedding more hair than normal. Before that I was prescribed Stelara, another biologic too, because my dermatologist was concerned that the Methotrexate I was on (which worked great and cleared 99.99 percent of my psoriasis within six months) would have an adverse effect on my fatty liver disease with long term use. My psoriasis flared big time after I came off Methotrexate and eighteen months on Stelara did nothing for it either.
After Skyrizi my new dermatologist prescribed another biologic, Bimzelx, which has cleared my scalp and body psoriasis, but now I have it in both my ears - a problem I did not have before. I am tired of steroid creams and wary about using them in my ears so I just put up with it and try to manage the best I can using coconut oil on them. On Bimzelx, I feel very tired for at least two weeks after. Taking the injection (which is every eight weeks now, having started with monthly injections) I feel very tired, but other than that no other side effects.
The long and short of all this is, each body reacts differently to any medication - or even natural supplements - so give the biologic a try for at least eighteen months and if it does not work ask to try something else. By trial and error, I am sure you will find just the right treatment for your specific body.
I took Skyrizi for about 9 months, and unfortunately, it did not work for me at all. I did not have any side effects, though. While taking it, my psoriasis got progressively worse and one of my knee joints became severely inflamed, along with enthesitis. My other knee also started acting up, but didn't swell up like my other one.
Actually, there was another thing I noticed, but not sure if it was a side effect, or perhaps my body temperature went back up because Skyrizi wasn't controlling my inflammation. When I started taking Humira, my body cooled down, which was great because before then, I was hot all the time. (Humira did work for me, though not 100%, so my doctor switched my medication. She tried to get me Cosentyx, but my insurer said no & I had to try Skyrizi, so that's what I did). As I was taking Skyrizi, my body temperature went up again and I became hot all the time again. Down the line, I went back on Humira, and once again, my body temperature dropped and I cooled down. When I took Humira every 10 days instead of every 14 days, I cooled down even more.
Right now, I am taking Cosentyx, and it isn't looking to good for me, either. I've been taking it for about 5 months now and my skin has gotten worse again. I think it may be helping my joint and spine inflammation somewhat, so that's a plus, but my skin is a big problem. Recently, I started feeling hot again, too...sigh.
