Is anyone dealing with the same horrible pain and what are you doing for it? There really are no meds. for these conditions that don't turn you into a zombie{opioids]. HELP!!

""You must never take naltrexone and Percocet (oxycodone and acetaminophen) at the same time, as this can cause a serious and potentially dangerous reaction. Naltrexone is an opioid antagonist, meaning it blocks the effects of opioids like the oxycodone in Percocet.
Here is what you need to know about the interaction:
Precipitated withdrawal: Naltrexone can "kick off" any opioids that are already attached to your brain's opioid receptors. This immediately triggers severe and sudden withdrawal symptoms, known as precipitated withdrawal.
Withdrawal symptoms: Precipitated withdrawal is an intense, unpleasant experience that can include nausea, vomiting, chills, diarrhea, and intense body aches.
Overdose risk: Taking Percocet while on naltrexone will prevent you from feeling the opioid's effects, such as euphoria or pain relief. If you try to overcome this blockade by taking a larger dose of Percocet, you risk serious injury, overdose, coma, and even death. ""
I don’t know about the interaction of ldn and percocet. A pain management doctor ahould be able to tell you. LDN is not a narcotic and is safe to take with very few side effects.
NSAIDS and Tylenol are not as effective as opioids. If that were the case we wouldn’t have people who commit suicide because they can’t get their pain treated. And this comes about due to the misinformation that is out there regarding the effectiveness of opioid pain medication. I ask my doctors if they have experienced chronic pain and I have yet to find one who has.
If you can find a pain management doctor willing to explore all the options, often you can find a medication (even a opioid) that will give you relief but still let you function! No zombies! It took me awhile to find the right medication. I work full time, have no wooziness, no "high" or anything like that. Just good pain relief. I worked through most of the options out there. Fentanyl patch (allergic to adhesive), methadone (did make me like a very sleepy zombie), finally landed on generic MS Contin (extended release morphine) with excellent results, but now on nationwide shortage. Just started on Xtampza ER (extended release oxycodone) last week with good results so far too. There are options you just have to find the right provider. My mother in law has terrible neuropathy and gets good results with gabapentin. My aunt has severe arthritis and does well on NSAIDS and tramadol. Good luck, don't give up trying to find some help. Hugs.
I guess it makes one wonder why if someome is ODing on opiods that you would give them Narcan. I expect that it must keep them alive, but the likely they feel really rotten. I never heard anyone describe the after effects of having their life saved in this manner.
Interesting take on what docs know about pain. After years of seeing pain docs both in private practice and hospital settings I came across one who said constant pain is what lead him into anesthesiology/pain med. Can't say that it has made a difference; two surgeries, multiple jabs, Tramadol, and still can't walk around the block. But hope springs eternal...
Upon leaving the hospital after back surgery I got a script for Narcan, six oxy and a muscle relaxer. Didn't fill them; thought the surgery would work.
I haven't worked since back surgery done wrong changed my life. I can't stand up straight or walk 1/2 block without my husband holding onto me. It's awful not socializing like I used to. All I want now is relief. Relief and better quality of life. I'm older now and losing hope. Thank God my husband is extremely healthy ans takes care of me very well. But he's nearly in tears sometimes just watching me.
Did the back surgery work? Your lucky if so, you're in the minority. My original simple fusion the doc drove screws into nerve instead of bone and left me to my own defense. Years of more surgeries and finally complete spine reconstruction. It helped for years. Now thoracic is breaking down. That's where massive fusions stopped because of scoliosis sharp turn.
I wouldn't have functioned without theopiods, but they have awful side effects, digestive being a big one.
