Orgovyx done. What to expect?

Posted by miked77 @miked77, Apr 15, 2024

I have been off Orgovyx for 7 days. Having increased number of hot flashes and still having leg pain at night. Libido still gone. Anyone have any experience similar and can give me some advice?
Thanks in advance.

I just finished 6 months of Orgovyx . Still hot flashes etc. How are you feeling? Did you test for T yet? At what time frame since your last pill ? Thank you , still sweating .

My brother was 75 when he had to take a Lupron six month shot Before his SBRT radiation.

He continued to have hot flashes for about nine months after that six months shot expired. It took that long for his testosterone to recover enough to stop the hot flashes.

You could ask your doctor to give you a testosterone test every couple of months to see how it’s going. Some people recover quickly others take a long time, that would help you find out where you are at.

I forgot to mention that since you are on Orgovyx the testosterone returns much quicker for most people. Much quicker than it returned from my brother on lupron.

Age is a factor however, and some people just don’t respond as quickly as others.

I’m aware of that but was trying to see if anyone felt relief and regained normal levels faster than average .

I finished my Orgovyx in June of 2024. My testosterone went from 14 to 482 in 28 days. I don't recall, but U think my hot flashes were gone within that month.

Had no change for about 6 weeks and then they tapered off. T recovered quickly to pre-ADT levels. Still have some fatigue (radiation can do that) but being almost 71 can do that too…

I finished Orgovyx 7 weeks ago and clearly getting stronger every week. I only had one hot flash so it isn't an issue for me. Blood work next week.

I finished Orgovyx a year ago and my testosterone, which was ~550-600 pre-treatment, initially went into the 300s after three months but has dropped every three months since and now sits at 210. The same doctors who told me it's highly likely I'd recover from a short six month course now say I probably won't because the hormones that signal my body to make T are off the charts high but my body isn't responding.

I felt OK even when my T was 280 but once it dropped below 250 the low T symptoms started again. My bloodwork now shows I have the beginnings of metabolic syndrome and they want me to take cholesterol and diabetes meds and get bone strengthening drugs but I don't want more medications that are going to have more side effects so I refused.

I'm thinking of stopping my PSA tests too because I no longer trust my medical team and I went to one of the best cancer centers in the country. I can't imagine a different team would make a difference.

All that said, I'm the only guy in my support group who DIDN'T recover their T to an acceptable level after Orgovyx so I'm probably an outlier.

Age is a factor. I'm 75 and will get my first PSA and T levels checked next month about three months after stopping Orgovyx.
