royanthony, I know the struggle to sleep very well. Was taking over the counter benadryl for many years until it stopped working. Then took Flurazepam which worked excellent, until they quit making it! Then the search was on to find something else to help me sleep. Tried Ambien, Trazodone, Lunesta and a few others....I had been taking Valium (diazepam) occasionally for anxiety, which worked great,... but didn't really help me sleep. So finally my doctor had me quit the Valium and said he was prescribing me 1 medication for both my issues, sleep and anxiety. He prescribed Lorazepam. And it works! I added 30mg of Amitriptyline for my mild depression and it also helps sleep and anxiety. I take 1.5mg Lorazepam a night, and no longer need an anxiety med for daytime. Have you ever tried over the counter Unisom? It has to have the ingredient Doxylamine though. Try it if u haven't. Works really good for an over the counter sleep aide. Good luck!
