Trazodone has worked for me for many years. For some reason my Dr took me off it and replaced it with Lunesta, which puts me to sleep, but I wake up after about 2 hrs...so then I just take a couple Benadryl.

I've been on Trazodone 150mg. for over 10 years and sleep between 7-8 hours a night. No side effects. Why did you Dr. take you off of it? You said "for some reason" but were you having side effects?
What I have learned on my own is that I do best splitting my 3 mg Lunesta pill. I take half at bedtime, and will wake up in about 3-4 hours. If I don’t fall asleep fairly quickly, I take the other half and sleep well for another 4-5 hours. It works better for me than taking the whole pill, because I will wake up.

I don't know about Trazadone and Lunesta, but continued use of Benadryl can emcourage dementia.
