Nope. Celebrex also A Cox2 Inhibitor...Vioxx worked and worked too well and hurt Big Pharmas Pockets in the sales of opiates. Celebrex is a placebo. Bad deal.
@popolopo
I tool Celebrex after Vioxx was taken off the market.
Both drugs have an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes. Celebrex worked somewhat for me but not nearly as well as Vioxx which killed thousands of patients. I stopped Celebrex and took fentanyl.
Celebrex may increase bleeding and other GI complications.
Good luck,
Jake

I canceled my surgery because the surgeon insisted on Celebrex. It's a cox 2 inhibitor AND an NSAID. My chart clearly states I can no longer take any NSAIDS. In his chart notes he said he didn't believe me that it should be investigated. What do you think his inference was? I'm furious. May I ask how you managed to get fentanyl? I imagine it was a patch? I have a low pain threshold due to so many surgeries, proper pain management is imperative for healing. Thank you. (:
I have a pinched nerve in my back. The strongest drug so far if tramadol. Hope to see a specialist.I have been in pain for 7 years. There must be something that will help.
@bdwmc
Tramadol, I think is a glorified aspirin.
I was actually surprised when my ex doctor ordered fentanyl, but I was taking so many other types of opioids that I guess she thought it would be better. in addition to the fentanyl light also took Norco 10 mg which wasn't really much better than the tramadol. Never mind I never asked for it. She just ordered it and said that I had some sort of pain syndrome. Great stuff although it didn't get rid of my back pain, but I know a nurse and she takes it for back pain and it totally gets rid of her pain.
Good luck but getting fentanyl is probably going to be a losing battle these days.
Take care,
Jake

I assume you never took Vioxx. if you had, you might be a statistic. I wonder why it caused 60,000 heart attacks and in others it didn't affect in any way. Great, great, great, great drug in my opinion, at least for me.
That was the greatest pain pill I ever took.
Jake
Thanks,I didn’t realize that there was a patch,I will ask my doc about it. My only experience with it was when I had a colonoscopy,the doc used it ,worked well.

@bdwmc
Two shoulder surgeries in 1978 and one in 1979. They have been trying to replace both my shoulders for more than 15 years, but that won't happen as long as I can function with an acceptable amount of discomfort.

Tramadol doesn't touch my pain. Please keep us apprised after you see a specialist? Is it a pain specialist? Wishing you the best.
