@emmur16, I'm glad that you got a referral to an ENT specialist. Waiting two months for your appointment isn't easy, but I caution about putting the cart before the horse. It may not be cancer. And treatment many not result in the removal of your nose. Sure, it's easy for me to say "just relax" - easier said than done right? Perhaps @loli, @alpaca or @lzzie have some thoughts to share.

Emmur, Can you ask the ENT specialist to put you on a wait list in the event that there is a cancellation and you could get in sooner?

My name is Loli. I had my chick removed from the inside of my mouth almost four years ago, and I am doing well and healthy. I do have a notable larger than usual right cheek, which my grandchildren kiss frequently to help it shrink. I am 66 now, and would love to get to 91. God and time will tell. My mother is 98 and in good health though, so I might have a chance. My advise to you is: stop peeling the scab, wait for your appointment, and kind of forget about your nose. I am sure you are capable of doing this, if you are 91 and in good health. You must be a very strong person. Also, think that if they take your nose, they will build a new one for you. Medicine in our country is so advanced! I am sorry if I sound rough. I just want to share my strength with you. And PLEASE, keep us posted.

So hard to wait for appointments. I try to think of the waiting time as a holiday. While I'm waiting I can stop worrying because the bad news might not happen and right now I am free. Try to do something you really enjoy. Treat yourself to a favourite food or movie or two. It could be anything and as Loli said even cancer cases can be dealt with successfully. Wishing you well!!!!

Thank you Coleen for your kind reply. You were right with your advise. At 91 in a few months I figure I am having "bonus time" anyway. I lost my beloved husband On November 9, 2015 and with him went the spark that kept me young. I have had good health till now. We will see come April 24th when I see the ENT. My eldest daughter did call and they put me on their waiting list. Death does not frighten me. It is the thought of not being able to take my nose with me! Bless you dear girl.

Hi Alpaca, Love the name AND Alpacas! Today my daughter took me for Chinese and then shopping where I topped off my shopping list with a package of Snicker candy bars, so I am glad to take your kind advise. Time will tell and I will keep my forum friends here informed. Love you all and God bless!

Last night I woke up at 3AM thinking of you. I felt really bad for my approach to your problem. What I really meant to say, is that you should not worry about your nose, and you should find a good side, a funny side to your condition. It broke my heart to know that you lost your husband recently. I would have not been this strong without the love of my life by my side, and my faith in God. Dear Loli, Do not worry about what you wrote to me. It was lovely and kind, not rough at all. My youngest son has had a chronic illness for four years and he no longer can work. He is my baby and is fifty one. When taking about health with him, my eldest son said his brother said to him about illness in life, "It is what it is." Those two sons are very self contained and never complain. I am taking a tip from that for myself. Best to you Loli.

@emmur16, you said your ENT appointment was two months out. Did you call to see if you could possibly get an earlier appointment? Will you do us a favor and make sure to give us an update after your are seen by your ENT? Just checking in on you! 🙂
