STOP! Don't do this if you have osteoporosis
I am starting this thread hoping people will post things they've done that they have regretted, for one reason or another, when suffering from osteoporosis.
I'm going to start the conversation with a list of things we've learned already, and we are newbies!
1. Lift objects heavier than recommended by your physician (for my husband, that means nothing heavier than 5 pounds right now, with 3 fractures).
2. Don't bend at the waist! He got a fracture bending to empty the dishwasher.
3. Be cautious when driving - avoid rough roads, bumps, and go very slow over speed bumps.
4. We had planned to go on a boating tour (on a commercial fishing boat) on the ocean. After seeing a boat rocking and bouncing over choppy water we decided not to go.
5. Do not slouch when sitting in a chair or couch. If you're going to rest for any period of time on a couch elevate your legs (per our physical therapist).
6. Do not try any exercises until you have cleared it with your doctor, especially before your doctor confirms your fracture is stable.)
Please add to the discussion. I think this could be useful to people, especially people new to this.

I wish I’d watched my own height loss. My doctors had missed it too. (Had severe osteoporosis diagnosis)
Isabelle7 makes excellent suggestions of 'what not to do' if you osteoporosis.
I'd like to offer one more: Do not ever cough and twist your body over the side of a bed. That's a sure fire way to fracture a vertebra - or at the very least damage your discs. I fractured a vertebra during a very bad bout of severe coughing from bronchitis. I had a lot of phlegm and not to get out of bed, I twisted my upper body over the edge to spit into a tissue while lying on my back in bed. I have now learned the least stressful position on your spine when coughing is neutral position (standing straight). Admittedly not always convenient to keep standing up but once you fracture a vertebra from coughing, you do anything to prevent another one from happening.
@jaynedanco, I couldn't tolerate any more than a half dose of Tymlos. I took that for 9 months, then saw a new endocrinologist who prescribed Forteo. I seemed to do fine on it until about the 5th month. I realized that I was having more memory problems and hearing loss. I quit Forteo after 6 months and have been back on a half dose of Tymlos. I also recently started an estrogen patch in addition. I am hoping this will help lower my CTX blood markers that have been high, so lower the osteoclasts. I also have developed 2 tooth root resorpsions. Form what I have read, I am hoping that estrogen will save those teeth.
No twisting. No jumping.
DO exercise… with care and use a PT or fitness instructor doing exercises approved by your Dr.
My Dr told me no more horse back riding…. 😞 too dangerous. But I may go against her ‘suggestion’ because my horse is 28 years old and I don’t know how much longer he’s gonna be here with me. just ride here at home… just an easy walk cause both of us are out of shape. What do y’all think?
I think ultimately it comes down to quality of life compared to quantity of life since we are in the process of dying.
When I declined meds the advice I was given was, "Don't fall".

I think this is the report you are referencing.
hi, there are many related articles related to teriparatide in pubmed..one of them is - Teriparatide may accelerate the growth of a pre-existing malignant tumor in an elderly patient with osteoporosis: A case report - 2019
then also there are articles which say it is safe.
Can you share with us how you reversed your osteoporosis? What kind of supplements did you take? What kind of exercises? What were your tscores before and what are they now? Thank you
