Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, @dsmayfield. How wonderful that the pipeline embolism procedure saved your life.

Were you experiencing symptoms before this discovery and procedure, or was it an incidental finding? How did your recovery go after the procedure?

I went to the emergency room for a severe soar throat with swelling. I told the excellent ER doctor that I had been experiencing grip problems. She suggested I believe an MRI. I was immediately admitted afterwards and told about the aneurysms. If not for this, I probably wouldn't have known until a rupture? This happened in Tampa and I didn't have insurance and was sent home basically to die with the warnings of don't strain, bend over, etc. I finally made it back to Tennessee, my home state, and was seen in Nashville. They couldn't believe the non options I was given and no help. Dr. Robert Mericle fixed me right up. Saud I was just before having a major problem. I will add, before I had the surgery, I did have a stroke 😩‼️
