Dear Meridith,
I’ve talked to a few ladies regarding Fosamax and HRT. Unfortunately I deleted all conversations by mistake, hopefully one of them recognise my name as I promised to send my first Dexa scan result to one of them. However, regarding Strontium Boost, which I was on for several years as I refused to start Fosamax, it didn’t work for me and AlgaeCal mentioned in their info that they could not guarantee it helped against osteoporosis. Something like that. But I was still not happy starting Fosamax so I continued with Strontium. Then I actually saw a photo of myself in a bathing suit and noticed I had a crooked back. Well, it was too late but I started Fosamax 3 years ago in November. My Dexa scan result from February this year has improved dramatically.
From red to osteopenia yellow. I also mentioned to the ladies I’ve talked to on this site, that Fosamax didn’t give me any side effects. The pain I have is from my crooked back. So my advice is to start Fosamax or any similar drug you prefer, but do it now, before you regret it. I’m 77 years ‘young’ and got osteoporosis from chemotherapy. Another story. I can only finish by saying again, Strontium didn’t help me. And don’t worry too much about side effects from Fosamax or any other drug. Weigh gain against pain, if any.
Goodnight dear,
My opinion is that if a company says "oh, you need to take our super-duper expensive supplement instead of our regular expensive supplement", and "please read the fine print regarding returns", maybe they don't have your best interests at heart.
Strontium has been discussed a lot here, so you should have plenty of information available.
