I have always been a musician and have had tinnitus for almost 40 years now. Acquired it in my early 30s, and I was told then, there is no cure, and read it many times since. All you can do is try to ignore it. If I am busy dealing with life, everyday living, etc, I can tune it out. If it is quiet and I am alone with my thoughts. The tinnitus volume is at 50%, but it is so far higher-pitched than normal sounds that it doesn't interfere with hearing.
I have seen ads on ways of curing it. But doubt it. Eventually, I just learned to live with it. Just like I periodically get 'floaters' in my eyes, which might stay for weeks, months, or even years. I just learn to ignore them, and most of the time, the ringing in my ears doesn't bother me, but it has never made me wince. I would check with an ear doctor.
That is my experience as well. It is there and probably diminishes the quality of my hearing even with hearing aids. In bed morning or night it is most noticeable. If I am reading or something else has my attention I don't know it's there.
