Insurance help with clinical trial?
I have access to a promising clinical trial that will require 3 weeks as a hospital in-patient.
Hospital is providing the drugs for free, but not the hospital stay, which they expect insurance to cover,
Insurance is balking because the therapy is not FDA approved, which is the point of trials, but I digress…
I’m developing some drug resistance and excess neuropathy on my second line of SoC chemo, and have about exhausted the FDA-approved menu of drugs for pancreatic cancer.
Any advice or resources for help getting coverage for this? Business is slow at my lemonade stand. 😉
Many thanks!!!

How have you been doing since you started your clinical trial?
I had to take the first exit ramp, which was about 6 weeks after I got the stem cells. Unfortunately, my disease progressed rapidly during my time on the trial. Tumor markers shot up and scans indicated significant growth. I haven't been able to get any info from the trial team about how it's gone for the other patients. I wish I knew, because it's very promising science. A year later, I'm doing reasonably OK, all things considered, and on the precipice of starting a new trial. I hope all is well with your, and thanks for asking!
