Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain?

Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain? I've had 2 doctors push this on me. I know that the side effects can be terrible and getting off of it difficult as it requires titration. One time I remember taking one pill, and not liking the way it made me feel, so not taking any more, and still feeling the "weirdness" from it 2-3 days later. and that was only 30 mg Please pass along any experience or advice from this medication?

So i stopped them all (Cymbalta, Lyrica and Gabapentin) because of no relief and terrible side effects . I'm now taking 300 mg magnesium glyconate, 600 mg ALA and socks with soap in them in my bed at night. Also use aches and pains balm for break thru pain. It's working for now.!! Lol

I take Tumeric 2200mg per day; each capsule is approx 700. I take one cap 3x/day with good. Took 4-5 days to set a steady dosage level in my body. I have much less GM pain. I also do red light therapy and PERF 3x/week now for 1 month.
I feel much better. The Rx have way too many SE.

What dosage are you or is your wife on? I've had peripheral neuropathy since 2015 and in that time have tried Gabapentin Lyrica pre Gabaplatin. Nothing worked. Only gained weight with Gabapentin and got the 600kg. And he wanted me to go further in dosage and I refused and got off it for two years nothing but aspirin occasionally. Went to a new neurologist he put me on Cymbalta which after two months seemed like a miracle drug. My joints felt better my pain started to go away. I am on it to this day started at 30kg now I'm at 60 and I'm fine with it I walk 4 miles a day now I go to the gym three days a week. I lost 40 pounds. Although I attribute most of it to cutting sugar out spread out and completely changed my diet staying away from all processed food. Just listen to Bobby Kennedy. I agree with everything he's doing. We are living proof of what our politicians have gotten away with letting these companies to induce bad things into our food. Good luck with your wife I hope you find a cure or move towards one. I pray for everyone in here every day.

what do stocks with soap do?

Not sure..what I read it has something to do with magnesium in soap. Old wives tales..but it helps my legs at night.

I tried Cymbalta twice and both times vomited profusely. I find yoga, stretching exercises and exercise helps the most. I do take gabapentin 300 mg at bedtime to help me sleep and in the winter I use a heated mattress cover. I still have pain but it is manageable at the moment.

I have chronic pain in my legs. It is really, really bad. My ra doctor gave me gabapentin for this 600/600/900. Hearing it causes dementia and alzheimers. Is this true? If so, what can I take in place of this and how do I stop this med. I have been on it for at least 4 years. It has gave me my life back but I don't want dementia or alzheimers. Advice please.

There is a "chemical sensitivity" blood test that identifies Rx's that cause side affects. I had it and several were identified. My insurance covered the cost. Ask your physician about it. Saves

Shouldn't something like this be SOP before precribing any of a number of meds? How does it tell you that you will have side effects from say Lyrica, but I won't? Does it involve DNA testing?

I’ve been on Lyrica for pain for 10 years. It’s a miracle for me. I would not be able to live without it. It is something you have to take when the pain starts. It does have withdrawn side effects if you stop using it , but your doctor should help you manage it.
I have been on cymbalta for a few years for mental health. It is Not at all helpful for physical pain . It does nothing for me that way. I take magnesium to help with sleeping.
Lyrica did make me gain ten pounds very fast and I have never been able to lose it. I eat very healthy and nothing works. But, I have stopped worrying about the ten pounds and remind myself that without the Lyrica I would be bed ridden and utterly miserable.
Hope you find this helpful .
