Diagnosed in April with a terrible flare up
Went on 10mg pred to 15mg down to 10mg. Pain, compared to what it was is gone. But, my right arm has a pain almost daily, the bottom of my left foot and new is the hamstring of my right leg. I walk anywhere from 20 to 30 miles a week and don't want to stop that. Is anyone experiencing pain in different areas from PMR?

After PMR I was finally diagnosed with Enthesitis
in multiple sites due to psoriatic arthritis.
Revisit with your rheumatologist and and repeat the
inflammation and autoimmune labs.
@mezack25, Do you think the pain might be more related to the specific type or amount of activity? When my PMR was active, anytime I did a little too much (for me) exercise or activity, I had more pain the next day. Do you keep a daily journal or log of your dosage of prednisone along with the level of pain when you get up in the morning?
I would not rule out that the pain you are feeling is PMR. I would have the pains come and go in different areas. My right shoulder seemed to be the weakest spot and my wrists and feet were affected but not to the same degree. I agree with seniormed and repeat your labs. Many have found other immunes that seem to surface with the PMR. Your thought of going to your lowest possible dose is right approach but you might still need more prednisone to deal with inflammation. I did my best to hold at 10mg and tried to weather the storm thru some of these painful at times sore spots.
Thank you. I have an appt this week.
Thank you
As @seniormed suggests enthesitis happens where tendons, ligaments, and joint capsules attach to bones. These pains move around and are hard to distinguish from PMR. There is an entire "family" of autoimmune disorders collectively called spondyloarthritis. Every autoimmune disorder in the spondyloarthritis family has enthesitis as a characteristic.

---------------------------
Beyond enthesitis, the conditions in the spondyloarthritis family share several other characteristics:
Inflammatory back pain: A hallmark symptom is chronic back pain that is typically worse in the morning or after rest and improves with exercise.
Genetic predisposition: There is a strong genetic component, particularly associated with the HLA-B27 gene.
Systemic inflammation: The immune system can also cause inflammation in other parts of the body, including the eyes (uveitis) and skin (psoriasis).
----------------------------
The worst part is you can have spondyloarthritis and still have PMR. I have reactive arthritis with PMR on top.
Everything responded to Prednisone in my case so just because Prednisone relieves your pain it doesn't guarantee you have PMR. The problem was --- I couldn't taper off Prednisone after PMR was diagnosed until a biologic called Actemra was tried.
My gut feeling is you may be doing too much exercise at this time!!! it can’t hurt to cut down on your exercise and do what’s comfortable for you and not to overdo anything. My best wishes to you going forward. Hope you feel better soon!!!
