1 ReactionHello, @lisalucier - My gut is doing better and better, thanks for checking. For my new thing since I'm doing better -- I'm now enjoying some light Greek yogurt and have added a few blueberries. My doctor said that's OK for me to start on blueberries since the peel is thin and it's one of my favorite things! I'm still mostly eating chicken soup with carrots, potatoes, and some peeled zucchini. White toast and bananas, boiled or scrambled eggs for breakfast. Corn flakes with canned peaches are also good.
Greetings to everyone, hope things are looking up for you all, too.

4 ReactionsHello, @zilla. Thanks for your comment. I agree, never stop treatment before we're actually better, always finish a course of antibiotics as instructed by the doctor. Glad you survived the bad time you had when the flare returned--wow, it must have been painful!
Take care!
Hi, @hopeful33250. Thanks for your kind words. To answer your question, I had 10 days of 2 different antibiotics at the same time - Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride and Metronidazole. My body is pretty resistant to antibiotics and since last time it was hard to get the infection down my doctor has been having me hit it hard to begin with. She also put me on Enterol probiotic during the course of antibiotics, then Bio-Kult probiotic for a while after I finish the antibiotics. She doesn't want it to get as serious as it did before.
Thankfully I'm gradually getting better now, just continue to eat carefully and rest a lot.
Have a great day!

1 ReactionAt what point did you start adding mirilax? I am just starting to increase fiber intake and have not had constipation, but I am concerned about it. I believe constipation has added to my flare ups.
I’m reading this thread to gain info about bowel surgery. I have a family member who is having surgery today to address a blockage. I don’t know the details, but couldn’t locate a recent thread here about that. I’m terribly worried as she is in distress and is weak. Hoping and praying she’ll be ok.

2 ReactionsI'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better, @laughterhelps. It is also great that you are eating carefully. A change in eating habits is important in recovering from diverticulitis. What type of eating plan are you following now?

Thank you for your kind words. My aunt is in ICU and doing ok. So I am ecstatic. We’re continuing to pray for her recovery. I am so relieved at this point though I realize she has a long way to go for recovery. So grateful.
