Use of Herceptin for clear cell endrometrial cancer Stage IV
Have Stage IV clear cell endrimetrial cancer. Surgery on August 31, 2025 removed all visible cancer. Several lymph nodes involved. Carbo/pacil with Avastin not working. Cancer has returned. They're considering using Herceptin.
Has anyone take this? What was/is your experience with this?

March 2022 diagnosed with ovarian/endometrial stage 3 serous carcinoma. I was treated with herceptin 1 full year every 3 weeks. 6 months of Carbo/taxol. Also surgery to remove uterus and ovaries.
I’m at the over 2 year mark for chemo. 3 year mark for surgery.
CA125 stays at 5 to 6. The herceptin did NO damage to my heart. I was 63 when I had it. So far everything is good. Holding my breath like the rest of us all.
Forgot to add, I’m HER2+
Took herceptin every 3 week. Taxol every week. Did work. Within 3 months cancer went from 2 small tumors to a belly full of them. One 7" tumor pressing into my stomach another 6" pressing into pancreas. Several others near liver, bowels.
I am very week. They want to put me on Keytruda and lenvima. Don't think im strong enough for this.
PS...I am NOT happy with ObGyn Staff at Corewell Hospital. Dr is very overworked and not paying attention
Is the recommended treatment based upon your biomarkers or are they just throwing meds at you?
Maybe you can get a second opinion - even via telemedicine after having all of your records & scans sent?
I was diagnosed with mixed serous/clear cell uterine cancer staged at 3A HER2 +. My original doctor prescribed herceptin during chemotherapy and for 18 cycles as maintenance. I changed oncologist in July. This doctor changed the order to until no longer tolerated or progression. This Doctor is a researcher. He's published over 550 papers and is sighted over 1100 time. He said that herceptin was more difficult with breast cancer treatments than with gynecological treatments. The drug s used for breast cancer also have heart toxicity as a side effect. Those side effects are not seen as often with gynecological patients.
If you are Her2+ give herceptin a try. Its has very mild side effects. Its shown to be effective in preventing or at least delayng recurrence

I have mixed serous/cell cell uterine cancer stage 3A her2+. I also had a CARIS analysis. My Dr is Matthew Powell at Washington University in St Louis, MO. He is the director of the gynological ooncology. He is known nationwide and internationally.
There isn't much research for uterine cancers and herceptin. The research on herceptin and HER2+ cancers was only published in 2020. However it's use was started in 1998 for breast cancer and it's well researched.
Your doctor is conservative. You could get a second opinion. If you have medical part a and b with a supplement (traditional medicare) you can be seen by any doctor who accepts Medicare. You could even see Dr Powell.
My doctor is professional. He doesn't just through meds at me. Yes I'm have pathologist that show I'm HER2+
This may sound silly, but your HER2 markers are a plus because there are meds out there for you to try that have been shown to have some success. I have no significant markers, with nothing yet proven to help.
Good point! I am deeptly sorry to hear of your lack of treatment options. Paxitaxol and Carobplatin didn't help me, but I am going to try Enhertu, realted to Herceptin. Thank you for sharing your perspective. I'm also looking a diet and exercise and stree relief.
I am also trying to improve my diet and working hard at stress reduction. Fear of recurrence haunts me.
