Has anyone completely gotten over Long Covid? Please post here
Hi - I went to the Mayo's Long Covid program and the Dr. told me "the good news is that it will eventually go away". Hoping to hear from some folks that are completely over Long Covid. I am hopeful this will be the case for everyone suffering from this awful illness eventually. Most likely once someone gets over Long Covid they probably stop following this message board. It would be great if they would post their circumstances and it also would give us some hope.

Oh, my gosh...there are a lot of things to take. But, mostly... amino acids so you can support your mitochondria which is the 'energy' part of all of the cells in our body.
There are specific products that offer mitochondria support. I buy a lot of my supplements from iHerb. They are affordable and ship quickly.
My best,
Pam
I make it a point to drink a big glass of water with a packet of EMERGEN-C every morning when I get up. I also give myself B12 shots and take 50,000 IU of Vitamin D once a week these are all prescribed except for the Emergen-C). I have found sugar is not good, salt and white flour (gluten). I can tell a difference in how I feel when I can't stand it and eat some ice cream or something salty, even bread. I have not gotten over this virus. I am three years in. I have better days than I did for the first two years. It is my belief that this is due to inflammation as well as our bodies fighting themselves. Epstein Barr was reactivated in me and I saw that in my blood work in 2022, when I first got sick. There is so much that is not known. I keep seeing the name of the doctor on YouTube although I have yet to watch him. I plan on it. At the moment, my doctor is treating symptoms. I take several medications in the morning to be able to function better. Hang in there.
No meds

Dear Colleen ~ thank you for being here! My question does not pertain to this thread, but has to do with a long comment I saw and cannot find. It included a link to a Covid website and talked about autophagy. That, and the fact that the writer was 83 (I'm close!) is all I can remember. I'd love to see it again if finding it is easy for you. Don't stress....!
I think we all need to be careful with the words we choose when responding to others. We all are suffering with our symptoms. Sometimes people misinterpret words because they are being triggered by their own past (or present) experiences not by what the person has actually said to them.
This got my attention because I think I had a bad reaction to some bean burritos that contained salsa. I found out that the salsa contained several things that can trigger histamine release or were high in histamine by themselves. I believe high histamine levels are responsible for at least some of our symptoms.
I agree and I also think we need to be accountable if we have said something that was clearly hurtful to someone else, as your comment was to me as a writer with long covid for 5 years, who struggles every day, as many of us do, you included. I wish none of us had to deal with the physical mental emotional and perhaps even spiritual impact of long covid. I come on here for support, so I hope that we can move on.
@sweetwater9. Tomatoes for one are big in histamine and possibly fermentation of the salsa another big one.
