Hello @kathyhg and Members,

I too have something going on with my Gastro Systems and I think indeed it may be GERD. My Pulmo suggested Pantoprazole as well 90 days ago and the chronic cough continues.
My primary, who I just saw for the "chronic cough" due to aspirating food particles which is then followed by violent coughing 50% of the time. To be clear, the chronic cough is definitely caused by BE and NTM, however it is now believed on top of GERD, I may have allergies. Not being treated with any meds except for Trelegy, Abuterol Nebbing solution before 3% Saline and Flonase Generic. The Primary at Weill Cornell Payson Center for the Aged, suggested Famotidine for the GERD for me and better for me than the other med and this will be my 2nd day on this med.
Will report in if there is any change.

frankie160, Bless you. This has been one of the hardest summers with allergies & asthma. I kept clearing my throat and did my research. Asthma & allergies exacerbates
Acid Reflux. Who knew? I am on a Albuterol Nebulizer daily and sinus irrigation and Albuterol rescue inhaler.

The humidity, all the rain and whatever allergens have enlarged outside due to the humidity
have made for a hard summer. I cannot be outside over 5 minutes or I tighten
up with asthma.

I see you are on Albuterol so I assume you have asthma. Perhaps the asthma and reflux
are working against each other as mine are. Just a thought.

I am on Protonix (Pantoprazole) 20 mg and Pepcid AC 20 mg at night for back up reflux. I
have been on Protonix 40 mg before and may have to increase it if the doctor orders.

Praying for you to get better. I empathize. Blessings....

@frankie160. In my experience, albuterol makes reflux worse. I stopped taking it, even though i neb 7%, it's fine. I have a hiatal hernia, albuterol is just a big no-no for me. I don't take anything for GERD. I try not to eat big meals. I eat 4 meals a day, high protein.
Best wishes of great health to all of us!
