Evenity injection site pain
Last week I had my 3rd Evenity injections. The MA told me with the first ones that they don’t cause sore arms because they’re given subcutaneous instead of IM. I had them in the morning, by evening my arms were very painful and that lasted into the next day. When I called the rheumatology office for advice I was told this never happens. Right. Same experience the second shots, though slightly less pain. Last week I had a different MA give the injections and mentioned the arm pain, she said that shouldn’t happen. Very minimal pain that time until late afternoon, then I was strapping ice packs to my arms.
Has anyone else had injection site pain?

The tender pain is severe beginning 3-4 hours following the injection and it continues for 2-3 days. I wish I could find a way to minimize this discomfort since this was my third injection today. I have had different nurse administrators each time. I typically alternate sites between arms and abdomen. I am glad you found some relief and I hope I can too. I wonder if there is a special protocol that should be followed for the injection. Your thoughts?
I had my 1st Event injections in my bat wings (flab hanging from the arms). 2.5 days later, not really too painful but a hard lump under the skin the size of a peach pit. Slowly going down. But will I spend up to 25% of my life with lumps? I will definitely try the abdomen next time.
I had my 1st injections in my bat wings. Tender with lumps 2.5 day later.
I have getting the shots in my abdomen. Just some tenderness but no other problems. One time had bruising. I’m sticking with that site based on other comments. Was told that there isn’t any down side to always have the same site.
4 down and 8 to go!
I SOLVED THE PAIN at my stomach injection site. After my first shots, I had no pain on the left side, but uncomfortable pain for 10 days on the right. I noticed the shots were administered in different locations. The left injection was 3 inches left and 1 inch down from my naval. The right injection was 2 inches immediately to the right. For my second set of shots, I brought a sewing measuring tape and had the nurse inject both sides at 3" away and 1" down from my naval. No pain! For me, I think having the shot in a fattier area farther from the naval really made a difference for me.

This should be given to every patient prior to commencing treatment
I had #10 today.. Yay for me. I started with injections under my arms for a few, then stomach for 2 ish and since then my thighs. Every pace has led to big red welts that feel warm and burn. I use ice packs.. and because I’m on Eliquis I can’t take my tried and true Advil so I have to be satisfied with Tylenol and it doesn’t do much for me. I feel that some discomfort is to be expected and it has to be a thing because so many ask about it. Hang in there.. time goes quickly. I’m praying that it’s worth it. I will have 3 years of Reclast unless the plan changes per my Endocrinologist in Denver. I am a Mayo Clinic MN patient also and my Endocrinologist there, Dr Clark agrees 100% with my plan. It’s hard some day and worth it most. Take care, Cynthia 🙏💕
