Tobramycin and psuedonomas

Posted by amap2025 @amap2025, Aug 11, 2025

I find this platform so interesting and helpful.
Any opinions or experience on tobramycin and the treatment of psuedominas.
I am trying to compare treatment side effects vs continuing airway clearance with albuterol and 7% saline.
Thank you

Cayston is my miracle drug to inhale now. When I alternate with inhaled Tobi my sputum goes dark yellow in a day or two, my all over achy pain fibro kicks in and I feel like crap until the 28 days are up and I can use the cayston again. I have only been using the cayston again since this morning and already my sputum has gone clear!

Beejenigma, my insurance (Medicare ; Cigna for prescriptions, gave me Cayston for only 28 days while I found an alternative. Afterwards they wouldn’t cover it because they said it was only approved by the FDA for cystic fibrosis. Did you have any issues getting it covered?

Linda, No! One of my doctors was shocked that it was approved but it was my other doctor who achieved it! I am on Medicare and Medicaid!

Beejenigma, I wonder how the doctor got it approved. We even appealed it and I still couldn’t get it. Cayston worked great for me and the others; Tobi and Colistin made me short of breath. I’ll investigate. Thank you for the info…

Could be that contacting the actual company would work. I got pulmozyme that way! Totally free.
