@huoda Thanks for your posting. I'm sorry to hear of your sounds and noises. As a person with tinnitus myself, I know how annoying extra noises can be. It might be helpful for our Mayo Community to respond to your situation if you provide a little more information. For example, how long ago did it start, does it last all day, when did the sound change to an echo? Also, have you talked with a doctor regarding it? If so, did he give you a diagnosis or suggest a treatment? Looking forward to getting to know you better. Teresa

Thank you, Teresa, for reply. I'm 50 years old, on hypertension treatment for 17 years. I have never complained of any ear issues, but I have intermittent sinusitis relieved with over the counter medication. Since a year, I had very very mild discomfort in my ear, but there was nothing abnormal when I visited my doctor. Three days ago, I started to complain from echo which suddenly accompanied with a hearing of repeated sounds when I talk or when I listen to others.

Thanks @huoda for the extra information. You mentioned a mild discomfort in your ear, is that a feeling of fullness or an ache? Is your hearing as good in that ear as in the other? Did the doctor you saw do a hearing test or any other type of test? Also, was it an ENT doctor.? If not, I would suggest that you see an ENT doctor. They might be able to pin point the problem better than a primary care doc. Just some thoughts. Best wishes as you continue your search for answers. Teresa

My hearing is ok. You are right, I think it is better to consult an ENT specialist. Thanks again Teressa. It is wonderful to find someone respond to you 🙂

@huoda Glad to have you as part of Mayo Connect. I have found a lot of support and encouragement here as well! Teresa
