Has anyone been on Lyrica?

Wow! Scooter81, That is SO AWESOME that you could share that! More Awesome that you are HERE! I read the side effects and know people who are on it and can’t get off of it. If you have to start a drug slowly and then get off of it slowly that should tell you it is a potent drug! I found no benefit from it that I couldn’t get from Ibuprofen. I know some people can’t take ibuprofen but Lyrica just scared the hell out of me and I didn’t want to take it for more than a week. That was how long I had to slowly get off of it after only a few days of being on it. Not judging those who take it and it works for them but I opt for anything else that isn’t addicting or puts my mental health at risk. We already get a mental health jolt when we go through all that we do with Cancer or other such things. I don’t believe in adding to that! Gabapentin is also supposed to be good for nerve pain. I would choose that over Lyrica, but even that is only for so long. Maybe some light physical therapy would help ease some of the pain? I am not a fitness person, but I know walking and slow easy stretching has helped me more than the meds did. I pray you find a good way to relieve your pain without the horrible side effects. Thank you so much for your kind words. I wanted to post it because for me, it was a matter of life or death. I would do anything to stop it from happening to someone else. I have similar reactions to Gabapentin and other similar drugs, even ibuprofen. My body is so sensitive to any and everything. I'm terrified to try anything new. I was extremely physically active until recently. I began taking mounjaro 2 years ago. I lost 150 lbs. and felt great! No more arthritis or fibromyalgia pain. Blood pressure is normal, or as my dr says, "perfect", my cholesterol has dropped significantly, no more acid reflux, and the list goes on. Well, I changed insurance plans and since January, they have been giving me and my doctor's office the run around about coverage. They insisted it was covered even though I do not have diabetes 2. I have congestive heart failure with a pacemaker due to an ER doctor's negligence. I have hypoglycemia, asthma, and other health issues that qualified me to take mounjaro. Since my insurance company was uncooperative, I had to quit taking Mounjaro cold turkey. Since it affects your hormones, I sunk into a deep depression and have already gained 50 lbs. My arthritis hurts, my acid reflux is back and the surgery on my neck that became unnecessary due to the weight loss, is now in my future. This is just another reason why I'm hesitant to take any medication. Mounjaro was life altering and to be forced to stop suddenly and not be able to resume taking it, has been devastating. But, during this latest ordeal, I realized that I can no longer fight, God has to take over the wheel! I have CLL and SLL, 2 forms of leukemia. My oncologist wants me to continue taking the mounjaro, but without insurance coverage, it's not possible. If there's any way I can help someone through the trials I've experienced, I am more than willing to share.
