My wife donated her kidney to me:
Basically if the blood groups match and the recipient hasn't had a blood transfusion in his life & your kids have no problems
Then pretty much it will be a match
Ofcourse both have to go thru' the rigorous testing to verify donor and recipient can withstand the surgical stress and no issues ( cardiac/Liver/Pancreas etc) can foreseen over the long term
I hope I am not oversimplifying this.
Good Luck
I completed 6 years in July... I am super grateful to my wife.

So good to hear the transplant has worked so well for you. We live in Utah and have gone 3 times to Mayo in PHX for all kind of tests. Every time we think they are getting closer to make a decision, they order more tests. The final one ( we hope this time) for my husband is a liver biopsy which he’ll do here in town. Hopefully they’ll approve him. In the meantime he’s struggling with overall body weakness which we think is coming from his peritoneal dialysis treatment. We are not loosing hope. But… has been very stressful. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hello...we are newbies here..husband is considering transplant-numbers have gotten low. But you said something thats concerning. If recipient has had a blood transfusion in the past can he still get a kidney?
