I have tried so many anti depressants and left me with severe side effects? The side effects almost are worse than my problems. Anyone take and success? Side effects?

I have done pretty well with Zoloft. Now my PCP added Buspar. No severe side effects.

Suggest they consider adding Wellbutrin. It is a very complimentary drug when paired with Zoloft. They actually have a nickname for it. They call it “Welloft”. I also take Buspar and they all work well together.
You are on the right track.
Good luck to you.

Hello, You took Buspar and Zoloft together?

I take Zoloft, Paxil and Venlafaxine. I have a “treatment resistant” depression and have had it since I was 17. I am stable right now on these meds.

I have for over 30 years along with Wellbutrin. I even added Klonopin taking 1mg in the morning and 1mg at bedtime. This might be controversial but I have never abused it or increased my dosage.
I have in fact cut my Zoloft from 100mg to 50 mg with no adverse effects.

Zoloft was the worst medication I’ve ever taken! I felt like I needed to crawl up into a ball! It made me crazy! Needless to say I got off of it as quick as I could! Happy for those it has helped! God bless!

I had the same reaction to Prozac. It is trial error with SSRI’s so I would recommend you try another one. Everyone reacts differently to SSRI’s. Hopefully you can find one that works for you.
Good luck.

The most common side effect with almost any SSRI is sexual side effects. Adding Wellbutrin can help with this side effect and for men adding 5mg of Cialis taken daily. These can be added to almost any SSRI but obviously consult your PCP or your psychiatrist.
SSRI’s take six to eight weeks to get in to your system so be patient. What might work for one person might not work for another. There has been some talk of a means of testing an individual to find out what antidepressant might work best for that individual. This is worth looking in to since the six to eight weeks seems to be universal with all SSRI’s.
Good luck to you.
