Radiation and Cancer

Many of us on this journey have CT scans every 3 months to monitor shrinkage or new “developments”. In addition, SBRT is often added as a Targeting solution for stubborn metastase. Once declared NED, scans are lengthened to 6 month intervals at some point.
Is there evidence that these frequent scans are inducing cancer spread long term?

I went through 18 weeks of chemotherapy with a phase 2 study called the triplet and after that 33 days of radiation scanned every two months for four years now out to three months after six years and eight months

Wow. What was the result from all of that?

Not that I am aware of, but the thought has crossed my mind.

What/how parameters were in place for you to choose a stage 2 treatment?

@mcharlesfrancis Do you remember if you suffered side effects from the radiotherapy and how long it took before your insides felt normal (ie no nausea, no throwing up, no reflux etc)?

I never had any side effects from radiation

@mcharlesfrancis I read it wrong - you had radiation and not radiotherapy. Different things.
