Scar tissue after knee replacement
I had knee replacement surgery 6 weeks ago . Through PT I have been working on breaking up the scar tissue only for it to regrow by the time I get back to PT two days later. I have been massaging at home, using a hand held massager and roller. It is painful and swollen. I am getting very disheartened. Any suggestions as to what else I can do. Has anyone had laser treatments to break up scar tissue? Were they effective?

This is so sad to see the same stuff different day-Killerbeesknees - I am stuck, like you with wrong size knee stuff a load of bills and pain that is of the charts at night esp. Will you try to pursue legal benefits? It looks very daunting from here.
I am in the same boat as you guys are . A surgery that has gone bad after the replacement (partial),then injections, then a knee manipulation, then a scope and still no relief along with a surgeon who doesnt care at all sort of laughs when you tell him of the pain and how your life changed I don't believe there is any help
How many of us have pursued or think about suing? Seems to me if the actions of one person ruin your life, well there out to be a remedy! I'm holding out until I see my second opinion surgeon in July, but, depending on what he says, I may go after surgeon number 1.
I too have developed sciatic pain after my knee replacement , My knee is doing good as it is only been five weeks however the pain in my butt and down my legs also makes it hard for me to sit for long times or stand for a long time. Going to therapy to see if there’s anything they can do for it to help me along
There is no legal action to be taken if your surgeon performed and operated to the best of his abilities. There is no legal recourse for his judgement of wrong sizing, this is left to the surgeons discretion at the time of surgery. Only if he was was grossly negligent and you can get your 2nd opinion to go on record stating this will you have a case. Good luck with your 2nd opinion, I hope you get answers too and share them with us.
If any of you try to sue, I wish you luck. The woman I knew who went through two years of agony tried to, to no avail. If it hasn't impacted your life beyond being in constant pain there was nothing that could be done she was told. I don't understand this, what about pain and suffering? Maybe she just did not have a good lawyer. I think doctors should be held accountable for things like this.

I found a really good chiropractor who had bee recommended by a friend who used him after her knees. He saved my butt … literally!! It made a huge difference!! Maybe your PT can recommend someone.
I asked my surgeon about surgery for my scar tissue and he told me it was too late (14months) to take care of the surgery. How long after the TKR was your surgery for scar tissue?
My Lysis was 40 weeks post-op. I have noticed (what seems to be) some of the scar tissue coming back a year later.
