unusual bowel movement

Posted by davidbrandi01 @davidbrandi01, Jul 27, 2025

I am cancer free now. 7 months after RP. two readings at 3 and 6 months both < .01 . Not wearing pads or diapers. Some dripping occasionally , coughing and laughing mostly. Playing 18 holes of golf with no leakage. Here's the question. My bowel movements are pretty regular however wiping my self doesn't seem to remove all the stool material. My point is I have noticed 'poop" stains in my underpants where as i never had before. Any comments would be appreciated

I imagine we all could use some suggestions and recommendations for the best bidets. I understand they can be added to the standard toilet but need electricity closely. But I believe you can purchase a new toilet that has the bidet features included.

I do not believe in toilet/bidet hybrid, no matter how they put it together that spout is in contact with toilet bowl and I do not see how water spray that is located inside a toilet bowl can be "clean" . I also wonder how well toilet can be cleaned with all those extra parts dangling around. Also, those tiny sprayers can not offer "spa" sensation 😉 lol and super cleaning. If taking short butt shower is impossible, than real thing (old fashioned bidet) is the next best thing. Something like this one :

VancuverIslandHiker mentioned small wands attached to side of a toilet bowl (connected to side water piping) and those can work great but one needs to bring warm water to that location. All in all, many solutions for ultra fresh and baby pampered behind ;))).

PS: However I look at it, the most affordable and easiest solution here is to install hand held shower-head in your tub, sit comfortably on the edge making your behind stick inside the tub ( you can sit on folded towel for extra comfort) and spray ! I am not lazy XP , so I just take short shower stepping in the shower.

I guess I would say that most of the world's toilet users would disagree. Not everyone has a tub!
For you the best solution would be not to eat...

XP, if you have place to take a shower, than you have a place to do "lower part" shower as well 😉

I have a shut off valve on my showerhead that I can open up or reduce the flow whatever level I like. Found it on Amazon.

That works really well to wash the lower parts without getting your whole body wet.

Maybe Depends on those walks until you are fully in control? At least you won’t have to worry about actually being seen to have shit yourself in public, I mean…
You could have a very pleasant conversation with a neighbor while having a full load in your Depends with absolutely no worries of being found out…(which is a secret delight we all harbor, let’s face it).
But for that neighbor to actually SMELL or worse- SEE a turd slide down your leg into the street is something far worse than the cancer itself.

I am 7 mos since RP and experience the same thing since the surgery. I have a normal bowel movement, then stand up and a little something is there that wasn't there a minute ago. Happens about half the time. I suspect it is related to the plumbing rearrangement during the prostectomy procedure as they drop the bladder down a bit after removing the prostate and reconnect the urethra. Seems like the relocated bladder may be pressing on things. Keeping my fingers crossed it resolves in time. Not a major issue, just another pesky little issue in the PC world.

After reading about Ryne Sandberg having it spread to other organs, within 4 months after saying he was cancer free. Thinking you are cured could be a fatal choice.

Is there any honeymoon period?

I don’t believe that a person is cured of cancer. I believe that a person go into remission from cancer. Those cells are extremely small and then they can start growing again.

As I mentioned I don't like the bidet or whatever it is called. But my wife loves it. She is a diabetic and has digestive issues that causes diarea on ongoing basis. She uses it almost daily.

With hers there is a drying afterward. Then the device is self cleaning. It goes through a self cleaning mode where is washing itself then high heat dries. I hear it doing this from using the sinks, etc. and took some time to get used to it. It does require electrical outlet and hers has a control device that looks like a T.V. remote.

But we are all different in what we like and find good for us. And for me I just don't like doing it. I have the the extended hose on my shower which I can pull down and use the spray directly on feet, butt, or anywhere want more spray and pressure.

On the toilet I use a flushable wipe that I like to use when needed but not just a pidet person.

Actually, the cells go into a dormant stage. Coming back months or many years later.

During the dormant stages, they really can’t be seen as prostate cancer. There is a drug that is being worked on right now that will go in and kill the dormant cells as well as live ones.

The study is called PROTAC ARV-766

I hope they develop the drug soon. I’m on my second recurrence. 🥺. I’ve been dealing with this stuff for 20 years now. Thanks for posting the information, Jeff.
