Has anyone tried acupuncture for neuropathy?
I was just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture for neuropathy. The balls of my feet and toes on both feet are affected. It’s no longer covered on my insurance plan so I have to pay out of pocket for the treatments. I was told I would need about 9 or 10. It would cost me about $1000. I’d like to hear if anyone has had success with this type of treatment. Thanks, Nancy Banks.

I have started acupuncture and am getting some relief for the ankles to knees pain I get when I go to bed. I am a skeptic, so I am not yet convinced that there is a cause/effect link.
I don't have any pain, just numbness in feet and toes. I also get cramps fairly regularly. Went to accupuncture sessions once a week for close to a year with no results. When I started having vertigo while on the table, I had to give it up
I also want to add that I want to do whatever I can to remain functional and pain free. A year ago I also went gluten-free, which has made a huge difference for me. It helps reduce inflammation, and blood tests are now normal too where they weren't before. I also eat organic, in the summer I grow my own herbs and vegetables.
While I don't always 'want' to go to the gym to work out, I go anyway and notice the difference in how I walk when I arrive in contrast to how I walk when I leave. I always feel so much better! I also do 25 minutes of stretching exercises daily which helps too.
My friend tried that & it gave him some relief from the pain. Than his person doing acupuncture moved away. My fried went back to his Summer home & I haven’t been in contact with him.
I have non-diabetic neuropathy and currently using acupuncture for muscle spasms and it seems to be effective for me.
I was wondering if anyone has had success using acupuncture for neuropathy symptoms.
I started to go and found I did experience short lived positive results, maybe a day or two. I couldn’t afford to continue going twice a week. Maybe the results are cumulative had I continued. Should be covered by insurance if results are proven effective.
The only practitioner of acupuncture I contacted told me that it was unlikely to give me any log-lasting relief. That honest reply was appreciated.
My doctor of almost 30 years told it's a temporary fix at best, and our insurance doesn't cover it.
I get treatments and it is very helpful. Impact on neuropathy seems to wane with time, but nothing reverses the neuropathy like it does-if only for a couple of months.
Thank you! Great to know the money may be worth the relief, if only for a month or two.
