Hello @note8book, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! You have been on quite the journey to get to the place of having part of your colon removed. I imagine that is continuing but looks very different since. I am hopeful reading through thoughts members have provided so far.

I have not had surgery though I am on my own digestive journey. My experience trying a variety of approaches to improving how my body processes food is that my doctors have been amazingly helpful when they walk with me through changes I make. It may really help to continue with recommendations and report back to your doctor to see what feedback they have.

You may have seen a new discussion about diet following surgery that may be helpful to you. I am including the link here in case you haven’t: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/how-do-i-eat-after-digestive-tract-surgery/

If you are comfortable sharing a bit about your experience it may help others know how to comment. When did you have your surgery? How are you feeling, and do you have plans go back to see your doctor?

I had the surgery on Sept. 3,2024. It took me 8 weeks to recover and after that I have never seen my surgeon after my final visit to see him. He just said that "If you need me you know where I am." I have other health issues to deal with such as fibromyalgia and high blood pressure.
