The study I saw the results of compared Fortibone to a placebo; not to another hydrolyzed collagen peptide. Who knows; a cheaper collagen may even be better or the same. Marketing!

You're probably right... but since Fortibone-based collagens are the only ones studied and found effective, then that is what I use. Maybe someone will do more research.

I would challenge this thought process although it is understandable. Marketing opportunities can easily manipulate us. However, my last dexi resulted in increased bone and the only thing that I did differently was consistent collagen with Fortibone. Although I have a long way to go, I feel stronger and less frail and as I study more, Fortibone reduces fragility fracture %. Granted, I am only one person but for me, there seems to be improvement. I am not willing to take collagen without fortibone.
I have been taking fortibone collagen for almost 2 years. I started with a collagen that only had peptide 1 (fortibone) but not peptide 2 (which strengthens tendons and ligaments) or peptide 3, for skin, hair and nails. I was mixing my own to get all of those. After studying AlgaeCal, I decided to give theirs a try because it is a one stop shop, very convenient, dissolves in anything and incredible community support on FB and their support groups. I also get my education from Dr. Doug Lucas https://www.youtube.com/watch, who is a wealth of knowledge, explains science based practices and also has a support team.
A word of caution- There is a lot of varying information out there and it gets confusing. Make sure you check your sources. This group is good for guidance.

I did not have any improvement in my DEXA, but I definitely feel stronger and more confident. Using the osteonaturals for about 18 months now. I do not care about my hair or skin or nails, just my bones.
I’m newly diagnosed with osteoporosis. Am on risedronate (monthly dose). Read about collagen for osteoporosis in this support group. Please advise (a) which collagen brands are good and (b) can it be taken while on risedronate regimen? Thanks very much!
@mpc1 From the information that I have been exposed to, the greatest concern is fragility fractures and fortibone seems to be effective there. I also understand (humbly as a lay person) that type 2 collagen is also important to strengthen tendons and ligaments. I am 73 and my skin could use help so I figured I would throw that in to the mix too.
AlgaeCal is about the same price as osteonaturals and it contains all three peptides. (I dont endorse any particular brand as long as it gets us where we need to be).
How long have you been taking fortibone, if I may ask? I have been taking some form of fortibone for 2 years now and feeling much stronger and less frail. I am glad that you are feeling stronger. If your scores did not change, that is improvement.
Thank you very much for your helpful info! 😀
I take it most days. Some people mix it into a smoothie. I mix it into a glass of no-fat milk with Ovaltine. 🙂 It's kind of my super-milk drink.

It's pricey, but the container is big. Compare the per-ounce cost to other brands.
