Mayo Connect is a forum for patients and caregivers to support one another. But, even if there was a doctor here, none that I know would render an opinion without seeing you and your images.

Chances of it being cancer depend on a lot of factors like your status as a smoker or former smoker, and exposure to known carcinogens like asbestos, concrete dust and benzene.

What was the reason for the CT scan?

My husband had a benign ground glass lung mass that was followed for 10 years with no change. Then one year later a cancerous tumor was found in that same lobe. Coincidence or cause?
