Has anyone gotten relief from Fibromyalgia pain by taking glucosamine and chondroitin supplements? If so, what dosage works for you?

Ask your doctor before taking it if you are diabetic. My niece is a physical therapist (doctorate) and she read during her geriatrics rotation about a possible correlation between glucosamine and blood sugar or insulin (I can’t remember which).

Thank you for your encouragement, maybe I’ll trial chondroitin one more time. It’s likely that the previous trials had glucosamine. If I get a migraine, then it’s out.

How much glucosamine do you take a day and how has it helped you?

glucosamine definitely works but the pharmacist said not to add chondroitin, so I don't mess up what is working. It helps relieve the pain which is in all my soft tissue.

My doctor that first suggested it said glucosamine chondroitin. I don’t know if MSM was mentioned. That was around 1993-94 when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I buy it when it’s on sale and she said I DON’T need to take 1-2 with every meal. 1-2 a day is enough. It is not a pain reliever. It works over time. I don’t notice it’s working be use it’s gradual. What I DO notice is that a few days after I stop taking it, I feel pain coming back into my joints that I could handle previously but not any more.
I won’t/can’t take pain killers. I’m a recovering addict. Glucosamine chondroitin, along and ibuprofen as needed, allows me to function. I can work and grocery shop and clean my house. Without them, I fear I would be a near-invalid.

I was able to get a couple bottles cheap when our Rite Aid closed down. I am good for the next 10-12 months now.
I love the ease of Costco’s liquid but it tasted NASTY.

glucosamine definitely helps. I take 750 mg 3 times a day, no chondroitin. If I don't don't the pain is terribly unbearable.
