I had a small bowel obstruction back in December which put me on a low fiber diet and then had me on miralax almost every day just to go to the bathroom I stopped taking miralax and started taking an olive oil that a friend put me on since taking that I don't have to take miralax anymore and I have regular bowel movements daily sometimes every other day but mostly daily. I ran out of the olive oil while I was out of town once didn't take it for about a week and my bowel movements got bad it was hard to go to the bathroom when I did go I started back up on my olive oil and within another week I'm having regular bowel movements again I've spoken to my nutritionist at the Mayo clinic and she tells me that it doesn't hurt if it works.
