I don't quite understand your question, nittanylions. Did you mean a 'device'? It isn't implanted, in any case, and the device that controls both central and obstructive apnea would be at the very least a biPAP (but not terribly effective), maybe an autoPAP (again, not usually very effective, but it depends on the patient). However, neither is implanted....they stand on your night table and blow air into a tube to your face.
The machine that treats centrals best is an adaptive servo-ventilator (ASV).
