I’ve had Afib maybe once a year for about 6-8 years I always refuse Eliquis and was never offered any other solutions. In March I finally saw a cardiologist after and Afib event 4 months before. Yes it took that long to get an appt.
I started on Eliquis and within a day I was really sick. Headache. Phlegm so thick I couldn’t breath, lethargic, confused/dementia like, and with 6-8 hours Afib. I had to be cardioaverted.
I told the cardiologist it was the Eliquis. I was told I was wrong it’s a virus. After about 2 weeks and the day I got the “I can’t live like this” thought I threw the Eliquis away. By the next day I was feeling better. It took a month for most of the bad reactions to fade. It’s been 5 months and the stomach and chest pain bloating which proceeds my Afib events is now finally starting to fade. I wish they’d realize Eliquis isn’t the one size fits all blood thinner.
