I am 10 week out from my HoLEP surgery and didn’t start to see any change for the better with leakage until about 6 days ago. I to had and still have some pain in my prostate valve area. At 4 weeks out I started feeling this pain when I started passing small bladder stones and lots of fine crystals. At this time I told my surgeon that I felt that there was stones in my prostate causing the pain, he had no comment on that. At 8 weeks my surgeon called me to see how my healing was coming along and was surprised that I had gone from 4 light pad to 6 heavy pad a day, that morning I had just got back the result of a urine test my urologist had ordered. My urine PH was 5, ideal is 6.5 or 7. The test showed my urine as cloudy which can mean several things like the presents of stones or infection. I did not have an infection. When I told my surgeon about the acidic PH and cloudy urine and how the pain in my prostate would increase as I was doing Kegal exercises a light suddenly clicked on in his brain. He told me that it is extremely rare, 1 in 500 cases with him that sometimes a stone crust can form in the prostate valve opening and stop the healing process and prevent the valve from closing. He recommended that I start taking this over the counter med called Stone Stopper that helps break down the stones and will make the PH neutral. My PH went close to neutral right away and after 6 or 7 days on the stopper the burning sensation and over active bladder symptom's were reduced dramatically. Not long after that I started retaining some urine without leaking it all out while standing and working around my farm. It is getting better every day. As of now I’m down to 4 light pads again as long as I whip it out and pee about a dozen time a day, before it all leaked out while standing and walking around and I never had anything more than a few drops I could push out. While sitting or laying down I don’t get any leakage and will pee a large amount but always head straight for the toilet after sitting or laying down.
You can check your urine PH with PH test strips, just tear off a piece and pee on it then check the color against the color chart. If you had bladder stones before surgery or have acidic urine run this by your doctor, Stone Stopper is not for everyone! Maybe just having a neutral PH will help you heal faster.

I want to add that calcium oxalate crystals can form a crust in your prostate opening also in urine in the normal ph range.
