I had a compression fracture 18 months ago, also at T8. It was incredibly painful for months. I did physical therapy for 12 weeks after it healed and have been working on strengthening my back muscles ever since. I was able to return to a normal routine but even now still have pain if I stand for too long.

The pain does lessen over time, especially if you can start rehab once it heals. I hope you will be able to do so.

I would like never to experience another fracture so I am trying to do everything I can to avoid it.

Thank you for sharing your story. My compression fractures occurred so suddenly. I was hardly doing anything. I am hoping they will heal. Even if I do PT after that...I am so afraid my back will break like kindling wood.
Did you wear a back brace? How did you keep your spirits up? I am falling into a deep hole. So tired of daily pain. I am losing hope. And this is not like me.
