Burning sensation in lower legs

Posted by operabuff @operabuff, Mar 2, 2023

I was diagnosed with CREST syndrome about 6 years ago, though the symptoms started about a year before that. Recently, I started having pain in my knees and hips; my rheumatologist has been unable to identify the cause. Then, about 3 months ago I felt a sharp pain in one of my calves, which went away after a day, and a few weeks ago I started having a burning sensation in my lower legs. Has anyone else experienced this?

Tramadol is a prescription drug, very helpful for severe pain. the burning sensation, for me, is the stenosis in my spine, which prevents me from doing anything that involves walking or even standing for more than five minutes. With the right physical therapy and daily exercise, I’m beginning to see a lot of improvement! I’m 85 years young, so any exercise is a feather in my cap!

It's encouraging to see you are improving with therapy (I'm an Occupational therapist). People who follow thru on exercise programs and see improvement in their daily lives is heartwarming to therapists.
Tramadol has helped me so much over the last 10 yrs. I'd go absolutely crazy without the relief it gives.

I had an ABI test which ruled out the burning in my legs being a vascular problem. I’ve been diagnosed with neuropathy for over a decade and looking for a solution for my restless and burning legs.
I found a supplement on amazon that gave me relief after a week, Healthy Feet & Nerves by Terry Naturally. My neurologist said it was good, has vitamin B complex, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Boswellia and Benfotiamine.
Not all supplement blends have all of these, which made this more affordable. You can buy larger sizes which reduce the cost. I take one every day and it helps a lot. I still wake up but it’s not from burning or restless legs anymore

Yes. I had a terrible leg cramp several nights ago and last night had burning in my lower leg. I have never experienced that before and researched how to get relief. I ended up taking tincture of lemon balm.

I get them badly if I've been taking Benedryl. I keep mustard on hand and take a little when they start up.

ALA has helped me immensely, I take 200 mg of it 5 times a day for neuropathy pain...the lower half of my body, from the waist down, is one giant severe neuropathy.
