Shingles: What helps with the pain?
I’m in my 4th week of shingles. So much pain. What are helpful things I can do for myself on my own? I do take Gabapentin 2x’s daily, 300mg.

Zoster does sometimes occur with pain and no rash.
Contacting your doctor for recommendations and recheck is important with the unusual symptoms.
You may need additional X-rays or CT to rule out
a spinal problem or fracture that might affect your sensation or circulation. If you can’t connect to get
relief you may have to resort to the ER.
See my comment above. I had various aches and pains a week before getting the rash. The most worrisome ones were around my rib cage. I don't remember hearing about "internal shingles" but it's probably a thing. When the blisters came, they were sore (raw) but not as bad as the postherpetic neuralgia which came later. Gabapentin helped that.
