Live in CO. Got a call about 1 AM on a Saturday morning and the nurse said if I could be there by Sunday they had a liver for me. We were able to get on the first red eye DIA to Phx Sunday morning and I was in surgery before dawn Sunday morning in Phx. Under 30 hrs from the call.
Another one of my miraculous "coincidences ". Who knows how long it would have been till they found another liver for my blood type. By the way we loved the building 3 breakfast omelets and blueberry pancakes , something to look forward to. As Kelly so eloquently shared maybe the lower meld may mean you won't need a transplant or maybe you could get called any day. Stressful not knowing but you are in great hands. Hang in there ! (---:

It is crazy, this whole “new reality”. But your outcome was Fire a reason, as are all of ours. I am so very fortunate, Craig. A year ago (as of last Friday) I was in the hospital with my ex- husband, three sons in tow, was calling my family to tell them I likely wouldn’t make it through the night. Wow. Really gives you good for thought, this journey. I’m speaking monthly at an inpatient recovery facility sharing my experience, hoping that just one of those people will realize they do have choices and to make a single better choice toward living. I know that’s why I’m still here and healthy. I take great joy in life, and love that I can STILL make choices.
