Pain in old gallbladder surgery site

Hello Mike, I too resently have had pain where my gall bladder scars are at. It feels so wierd am doing something one minute then the next am literally screaming from the pain. It hurts that bad. I had my gall bladder surgery in 2013 a few days after I had my daughter via C-section. Well Mike hope you find all the right answers that you are looking for. Take Care and God Bless.

I am sorry that you are experiencing some harsh pain. Has your pain recently developed, or has it been ongoing and gradually increasing?

Mike, I again will point to the phantom pain my surgeon suggested after I had part of my pancreas and spleen removed. That sounds like the craziest thing in the world, but the first person who said my missing left arm hurts was likely placed in a padded room for some period of time. I believe anything is possible until proven otherwise, but if you are having pain from the staples used 40 years ago, I want my next vehicle built out of that material. Have there been any unusual movements on your part in doing yard work, honey do's, etc...If so, I would tend to place the blame with scar tissue, but.....there is a reason all of us have not hung out our shingle and gotten a huge malpractice policy. May be a good idea to see a doc who did not perform your surgery and let us know what the young whippersnapper has to say.

Well if am correct on when this pain started, then it's been like maybe 3 or 4 months.

@dodgerblu818311, have you seen a doctor for your symptoms? How do you manage the pain-episodes?

Thank You for welcoming me to this discussion. It was very streesfull and traumatic for me because I almost didn't make it when they were doing the gall bladder surgery. I stopped breathing for a bit. Then as few days after the surgery I was informed by my doctor that I had developed a very bad infection called C.diff. So I was in the hospital for a month and I couldn't even see my daughter.

That must have been so scary!
Clostridium difficile or C. diff, is a bacteria that can cause symptoms ranging from diarrhea to severe abdominal cramping and inflammation of the colon; it typically occurs after the use of antibiotics.

@dodgerblu818311, C. Diff. is notoriously difficult to get rid of; have you been tested for it recently?

@dodgerblu818311, I have no gall bladder, but I do not have the usual incision site, since mine was removed during process of liver transplant surgery. I do, however, experience some sudden pains I the abdomen. I have realized that these are due to change in my eating habits, for example, if I allow myself to eat fried foods (not often) I know I will suffer later. I was also diagnosed with mild diverticulosis, as a result of my early inquiries to my doctors.
So I wonder if you have made any dietary changes, recently.
Having said that, I would encourage a phone call to your doctor, to be sure. If this is being caused by something that requires treatment, you are best to get it diagnosed early.

I too have started feeling EXACTLY what you have been experiencing, my surgery was 32 years ago, 3 weeks after emergency C-section. I was worried about my internal "zipper" had come undone and was poking me. I have no other symptoms other then that sharp little pain, that brings back all the horrible memories of my gall-bladder operation. I do have a TEETER Hang-up, maybe I over stretched, not sure. It is nice to see I am not alone, will see what happens, and if it get worse. I am hoping for better.........So glad this site is here, THANK YOU!!
