Severe itching on hands and feet during Taxol chemo Treatments
I am having excruciating periods of itching of my hands and feet that started 2 days after 7th chemo treatment of Taxol. Does anyone know what helps to prevent or relieve?

Thank you for the info, it is good to know how the Gabapentin works.

1 Reactiongmja, You are very welcome! Splitting the Gaba dose up has worked well for me, after 4 weeks on 100 mg /3x/day of Gaba, I do not get tired from it now like I did with the initial 100mg dose.
Hope this post helps others as well:)
Wishing you all the best!

1 ReactionDid you wear them during infusion and/ or at home? I start chemo next week.
I Put them on immediately upon arrival for infusion. Took them off at the end. I also wore an ice cap, but still lost most of my hair.
The chemo nurses will be very helpful. They are angels.
@gmjia just wondering if your itching resolved after finishing taxol. I have 5 treatments left and having the same itching on hands and feet. Dipping my feet in very hot water and washing my hands with hot water seems to override the itch and it stops. But wondering how long this will last after treatment.

The itching was something else, nothing seemed to help and I was getting desperate. I was switched to the liposomal Taxol and the itching stopped. I hope you get some relief. God Bless.

1 Reaction@gmjia Thank you and I’m so glad this went away for you. I will inquire about this one too. God bless you also. Thanks.
@gmjia How long after switching Taxols did it take for your itching to stop? My Dr is switching me to Abraxane which is similar to the Taxol you were switched to. I start Tuesday. Thank you for sharing and I’m praying this helps.
@blessed100
