Pain relief with Gabapentin after broken hip surgery?

I discovered quite accidentally that Gabapentin made quite a difference in my pain level after surgery for broken hip. I have it on hand for nerve pain but this was an unexpected surprise. I know there are off-label uses for it. Has anyone else had this experience?

I have been on Gabapentin since follow-up surgery on my broken right knee. It has helped with the pain and continues to help so far. I have not had any complaints with it.
