I have an urostomy. I am concerned that I my have an infection problem

my urine is usually clear with dirty particles in it. Sometimes my urine has mucus clots in it. Is this normal? my kidney function teeters between stage 3 and stage 4.

I posed the same question to my surgeon and was told it was normal because a piece of the small intestine was used and the mucus comes from it not the urine. I have also a urostomy for about 3 1/2 years and it is still happening.
